I am not a baker

There's only one thing that inspires me / “MAKES ME” bake… it's my children.

I love cooking but baking just doesn't interest me and that's okay because I don't think baking likes me either.

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you can see that I totally admit to having way too many baking flops to count.

I just don't get very inspired to bake unless it's for my kids and only for special occasions like birthday parties and holidays.

And if you're a mom, you know that this means I end of baking A LOT, even if I don't want to.

I bake because

My kids have allergies and need gluten free options.

And I just don't want my kids to eat the “junky” baked goods that are at practically all the kid parties and at most holiday parties today.

Yeah, I'm “that mom” that will scrape off the frosting from the top of blue, purple and green frosted cupcakes before giving it to my kids.

Call me a weirdo, but I just don't want my kids eating all of those artificial dyes and colors that have been linked to ADHD and diseases.

It seems like a rare and even extinct thing that people bake from scratch anymore.

So, I bake because it's really sad and frightening to see what we pass off as okay for our kids to eat.

If you read store bought baked food labels, you need to be a scientist to decode all of the chemical preservatives, artificial colors and flavors used in baked goods today.

That's why when I saw this Miss Jones Better Baking Challenge, I wanted to spread the news with you!

Miss Jones is the Betty Crocker for the new generation.

It's for our generation of parents and children that have to be concerned about GMO ingredients, and artificial colors and flavors.

This is not what our Betty Crocker baking grandmas had to be concerned with because it didn't exist back then.

GMO's didn't even get introduced to us and into our homes until
“the FDA approved it in 1984 and they came to our grocery stores in 1994” – -gmoinside.org

When I help families eat healthier, I suggest they take it 1 simple step at a time and to remember to work towards “progress not perfection”.

The same goes with “Better Baking”

Use organic ingredients
Without Artificial Colors or Flavors

Miss Jones baking products do that and MORE:
They are plant based
And sustainably sourced

Note: not all of their products are gluten free (but this gluten free Mom is keeping an eye on this company because it wouldn't surprise me if they did soon.)

I support Miss Jones for their “Better Baking” approach and quality ingredients.

And I do LOVE their frosting because I've never seen one as clean as this before!

Certified Organic and Vegan
Gluten-free, Soy-free, Dairy-free, Nut-free (and made in a nut-free facility)
No hydrogenated oils or trans fats
No artificial colors or flavors
Made with Rainforest Alliance certified sustainable palm oil from Colombia on farms previously used for other crops to avoid deforestation

So, I made my own gluten free, nut free and dairy free cupcakes from scratch by following one of my favorite Elena Pantry's recipes (my favorite because it's easy and I can't mess it up).

Then, I saved a ton of time using Miss Jones Frosting and I no longer have to be that weirdo mom scraping frosting off my kids' cupcakes!

My cupcakes have never tasted “sweeter” and “cleaner”.
