Stick with the Basics to get healthier FAST!

It’s always a good idea to stick with the basics to avoid overwhelm.

Don’t you just feel a sigh of relief and a weight off your shoulders when you fall back on the basics in life? ahhh…

Here is my basic ground beef recipe for you when you just don’t have the time or the ingredients to make burgers and your kids think taco seasoning is too spicy.

But, first, let’s talk about how to make this easy recipe the healthiest for your family!

That’s why It’s not only important what we eat. But, it also matters what the foods that we eat, ate.

Many studies have shown that the nutrients in beef can vary depending on what the cows eat.

Generally speaking, grass-fed cows eat grass like they were created and meant to eat.  The basics!

Conventionally raised grain-fed cows eat an unnatural diet of soy, corn and more of NOT the basics.

Today, conventionally raised cows are given drugs and hormones to grow faster, as well as antibiotics to survive the confined and unsanitary living conditions. The cows live there for a few months and then moved into the factory for slaughtering.

So let’s just stop eating beef.

Well, that may not be the solution for you.

Protein in beef provides plenty of building blocks for our body for strong lean muscles and healthy hormones. Vitamin B12 {think ENERGY!} is abundant in beef, it is for essential for our healthy nervous system and blood. It also has iron and potassium and more.

Then Let’s just eat Beef!

Sure (if that works for you) but let’s stick with the BASICS.

Not just any beef but an organic, pasture raised, GRASS-FED BEEF.  That’s the basics!  Cows were made to roam around, graze on grass and grow on their own.

Cows weren’t meant to live in tight and confined cages, needing antibiotics because of the confinement or given added growth hormones to grow faster and fatter.

  • Lower levels of ‘bad fats’
  • Higher levels of antioxidants including beta-carotene, vitamins A, B, C, and E

  • Lower fat, leaner meat (shown to help lower bad or LDL cholesterol levels)
  • Higher in minerals (calcium, potassium, magnesium)

Basic Grass-Fed Ground Beef

Ingredients

  • 1-1/3 grass-fed organic ground beef
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or ghee
  • ¼ tsp. pink Himalayan Sea salt
  • ¼ tsp. garlic (powder or fresh)

Directions

  1. Heat coconut oil or ghee in sauté pan over medium-low heat.
  2. Sprinkle salt and add garlic evenly and stir.
  3. Stir in beef and cook until brown and no longer red.
  4. Stir occasionally.

Grass-fed beef cooks quicker than regular beef so I suggest to lower the heat to better control how well it is cooked. Otherwise, it can go from perfectly cooked to overdone in a matter of seconds.

The simplicity of this recipe works with organic grass-fed beef because the taste and quality of this REAL FOOD speaks for itself.  And using a healthy fat like coconut oil or ghee brings out the flavors even more.
