Join us in the kitchen!

We had the best time teaching the “SuperFoods for SuperKids” Class at Whole Foods Market in Brea, CA and wanted to bring the class to you and your family.

This brand new store opened in February 2016 and we were thrilled to teach a Whole Foods Kids Club class a month later. {squeal!!} 🙂

With this AWESOME mezzanine and kitchen that has a birds eye view of the store, we wanted you to be here too!

Here's what we did (below) and I highly recommend you check out all of your local Whole Foods Market community events for your children and for YOURSELF!

Whole Food Community Classes

I was born and raised in Orange County, CA and have been to the Grand Opening Days of almost every Whole Foods in OC.

We are lucky to have Whole Foods in our community and Whole Foods Markets appreciate their communities too.

Community classes and events (for all ages) are posted in-store, on the “Whole Foods Market” website, and on their new phone App too.

Our family taught a “Superfoods for SuperKids class” where each child was able to taste, create and make their own DIY trail mix!

Here's a picture of the final product.

Kids in our class learned fun facts about Superfoods.

We didn't know what a superfood was until I researched about it.

Then I was convinced as a mom wanting more “bang for my buck” in health benefits, superfoods are a way to get healthier fast!

The coloring pages I made helped kids learn and remember why it's super important to eat superfoods

I had fun facts on each coloring page like, “Walnuts look like a human brain and are good for your brain!

You can get your own copy of this coloring book HERE.

So, if you need a healthy snack and trail mix to take with you on-the-go this weekend, this quick and easy recipe for YOU!

Here's the spread of ingredients we used for the kids in the class

Super Food Trail Mix

Mix the following superfoods and store in a mason jar.

Almonds
Walnuts
Sunflower seeds
Cashews
Gogi Berries
Cranberries
Coconut

Banana Chips
Cacao Nibs
Dark Chocolate Chips

We shared these superfoods from Whole Foods Market Bulk Section, 365 Brand, Navitas Naturals and Enjoy Life Mini dairy free chocolate chips.

Don't have a Whole Foods near you?  Buy and have your super foods delivered to your door with Thrive Market.

I have to tell you, it was SO impressive how each child kept a super open mind and sampled EVERY superfood!

When kids have a fun way to learn and try eating healthy food, they keep an open mind!

Kids learned about each superfood, tasted each one, created their own custom trail mix and took it home in a cute and reusable mason jar.

Stay tuned for more “Whole Foods Kids Club” classes we will be teaching more and recapping them for you!

Will you try making this Super Food Trail Mix in your kitchen?

What's your favorite superfood ingredient for your custom trail mix?
